Hosting the cannabis industry in your community

July 13, 2021

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for considering hosting a small part of the cannabis industry in your municipality.

I know that any increased access to a previously banned, but now legal substance like marijuana carries with it a certain amount of anxiety. But I assure you that welcoming the legal cannabis industry into your community will be a good thing.

You have only to reach out to the mayors and chiefs of police of the communities that currently house the medical cannabis Alternative Treatment Centers (ATCs). These local officials will assure you that this tightly regulated industry is a positive addition to their communities. The list of New Jersey ATCs is here: https://www.nj.gov/health/medicalmarijuana/alt-treatment-centers/

The fears associated with the legal industry have been proven to be unfounded as this current analysis from the CATO institute reveals: “The Effect of State Marijuana Legalizations: 2021 Update.” https://www.cato.org/policy-analysis/effect-state-marijuana-legalizations-2021-update

Just as the therapeutic benefits of cannabis can restore health to an individual, greater access to cannabis can restore health, and add wealth, to a community.
